Franklin County Agency for Substance Abuse Policy

The mission of the Kentucky Agency for Substance Abuse Policy (KY-ASAP) is to develop a long-term strategy that is designed to reduce the incidence of youth and adult smoking and tobacco addictions, promote resistance to smoking, reduce incidence of substance abuse, and promote effective treatment of substance abuse throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Franklin County’s ASAP (Agency for Substance Abuse Policy) board is part of a larger community that exists in Kentucky. We are a group of community leaders, counselors, law enforcement, mental health professionals, school staff and many more that meets monthly to discuss prevention, treatment, recovery and enforcement in Franklin County. We are here to address the problems in Franklin County and help solve them. With a focus on providing information and access to resources, decision makers, treatment, etc, we work togther to better our community.

We Partner with

  • Harm Reduction Program in Franklin County, (Naloxone) Syringe Exchange
  • Prescription Drug Take Back in City and County
  • CARES Coalition for Unhoused
  • Frankfort Police Department Situation Table
  • MAPP Mobilizing Action Through Planning and Partnership at Health Department

We strive to be a hub of information and resources for our Frankfort community. We are much more than a monthly meeting, though we do gather to update and educate each other on current events and opportunities. You can find us at local events advocating for our members. We financially support local efforts such as Red Ribbon Week, drug testing, Just Say Yes Parent Cafes and events, Project Graduation and much more.

What can you do?
